DASS bridging channels are used for stiffening steel stud walls both non-loadbearing and loadbearing walls and partitions. The channel is turned to lock it into place within the stud knockout in order to provide resistance to twisting of the steel stud due to wind or axial loading. The bridging channel is also the preferred way of installing a drywall ceiling with furring channel connected perpendicular to the bridging channel suspended from the structure above.
